First-of-its-kind iOS app for live sound mixing

Mackie, part of Loud Technologies, Inc.

Before iPhones and iPads were used for everything, digital live sound mixing boards were very expensive. We turned physical knobs, buttons, and a small screen into a docking station with a native app for an iPad. It evolved further into iPhone apps.

No one had done this before. “UX Design” wasn’t even a known term yet. But we took a chance and did it, and it’s still one of the most downloaded apps in pro audio. This is the project that pivoted my focus from Industrial Design to UX Design.
